When does booking open?

Two months before each visit date. A new day goes on sale each night shortly after midnight JST: watching the official store on 16 October 2026, the last bookable date moved from 16 to 17 December at about 00:26 JST for one ticket and 00:34 JST for another. USJ does not publish this hour, and some tickets have their own start date on their sales page. Free Super Nintendo World timed entry is given out in the app on the day, after you are inside.

How far ahead is that?

Up to 2 months, and until the day itself.

The official Web Ticket Store (in English, run by JTRWeb, an authorised reseller), a travel agency listed on usj.co.jp (Klook, Trip.com, JTB, HIS, Traveloka, tiket.com), or a partner hotel on the day of check-in and the day after.

Express Passes are limited: at 22:00 JST on 15 October 2026, most of them were unavailable on the English store for the next two weeks, while December dates were still open. Super Nintendo World timed entry runs out each day. USJ publishes no figures.

Can I cancel or change?

Studio Passes cannot be cancelled; most can change date for free (paying any price difference) until 90 days after the original date, but on the Web Ticket Store a whole order changes, not one ticket. Express Passes cannot be cancelled or moved, and a missed ride time is lost.

Universal Studios Japan tickets: when they go on sale

Two months before each visit date, on the official Web Ticket Store, and on sale until the day itself. Express Passes, the main way to a guaranteed Super Nintendo World time, go on sale with them; buy those first.

How to book

Buy on the official Web Ticket Store, linked from usj.co.jp, as QR e-tickets, one per person, which you can send on to the others. Studio Pass prices vary by date and can rise after release, so earlier is usually cheaper; a ticket already bought is never charged the difference.

Install the official USJ app before the day: Super Nintendo World’s free timed entry and its standby lottery happen there, once you are inside. A guaranteed entry time comes only with certain Express Passes or through select travel agencies.

If it’s sold out

Without an Express Pass, get the free Super Nintendo World timed entry in the app as soon as you are in; once those run out, the app runs a standby lottery. The travel agencies listed by USJ sell their own range of tickets, so check them too.

Do not buy resale: USJ voids resold QR codes.

Booking for a group

Buy the whole group’s Express Passes in one order: USJ says separate purchases can get different ride times. Each person needs their own ticket, and the number of tickets cannot change later, so settle the head count before buying.

Register everyone’s Studio Pass in one app so the group gets the same Super Nintendo World time; if standby tickets are won separately, only the people on the winning ticket get in. Children 3 and under are free.

Good to know

Check ride height rules and closures before buying an Express Pass; its times are fixed.
Buy Studio Passes early: prices can go up after release.
The store sells around the clock, except during announced maintenance.
