The group trip planner that works with everyone’s AI
No new app for your friends. Everyone adds to one shared plan from ChatGPT, Claude or Grok, and Tripmo draws it on a map.
The plan is a notes file, a spreadsheet, and forty messages.
You’ve planned this trip four times in the group chat. Someone’s notes, someone’s spreadsheet, forty messages up a thread, and the version that mattered is the one nobody can find.
The plan your AI made dies in the chat. Tripmo is the group trip planner for that: each person keeps the AI they already use, and everyone writes to the one plan.
Three steps.
-
Start a trip in your AI.
Tell ChatGPT, Claude or Grok where you’re going. “Start a trip to Japan in November and save Fushimi Inari as a must for me.”
-
Invite the group.
Send one link. Your friends don’t install an app, and they don’t learn a new one.
-
Everyone’s AI writes to one plan.
Their ChatGPT, Claude or Grok adds places, days and who wants what. You all see the same map.
What the group gets
- A map of the trip, and the days it falls on.
- Who wants what, kept on the place instead of lost in the thread.
- Deadlines. When something sells out on a schedule, it goes on the plan and the right person is reminded. Start with when to book: the Ghibli Museum, Pokémon Cafe and the Shinkansen.
Tripmo and the usual stack
Most groups run a chat, a Google Sheet, Wanderlog and Splitwise. Each one is good at something. Together they are four places for one trip. Where the other tool is the better one, the table says so.
| What | Chat, Sheet, Wanderlog, Splitwise | Tripmo |
|---|---|---|
| The plan | Split across the chat, the Sheet and the app. | One plan the group shares. |
| A new app | Wanderlog and Splitwise, if the group uses them. | None. Each person plans with the AI they already use. |
| The map | Wanderlog’s, when someone keeps it up to date. | The plan, drawn on a map. |
| The days | A tab in the Sheet, or Wanderlog. | On the plan, by day. |
| Who wants what | Somewhere in the chat. | Kept on the place, as interest. |
| Deadlines | Someone remembers, or a cell in the Sheet. | On the plan, and the right person is reminded. |
| Splitting a bill | Splitwise is built for this. | Tripmo is not a bill splitter. |
| Finding places | Wanderlog is ahead on discovery, routes and its phone apps. | Your AI does the finding. Tripmo keeps what the group keeps. |
Wanderlog on its own, checked against its site, is on the Wanderlog alternative page.
When a Google Sheet is enough
A Sheet is enough when the group is small, everyone will actually edit it, and the trip is a list: dates, a hotel, a few links. Keep the Sheet. It is a fine group trip planner until the plan turns into forty messages, nobody can see it on a map, or you’d rather tell your AI than retype a row.
That last case is this page. The Sheet stays good at being a Sheet. It was never going to hold a plan that four AIs write.
Questions people ask.
Do my friends need Tripmo accounts?
They join with the trip’s link. They don’t install an app. To see the plan, that’s enough; to add to it, they use their own AI.
Which AIs work?
ChatGPT, Claude and Grok, plus anything else that speaks MCP. Each person uses the one they already have.
How do I try it?
Tripmo is in early access. Leave your email and we’ll write when it’s your turn.
Does it book things?
No. It keeps the shared plan, the map and the deadlines. You book on the official site.
