Ghibli Park tickets: when they go on sale
On the 10th of each month at 14:00 Japan time, for every day of the month two months later: 10 October for December, 10 November for January. Online only; the Premium pass sells out first.
- When does booking open?
- The 10th of each month, 14:00 JST, for the month two months later. 10 October 2026 opens all of December 2026, 10 November opens January, and so on.
- How far ahead is that?
- About 7 to 12 weeks ahead.
- Where do I book?
- Online only. From abroad: Lawson Ticket’s English site or Klook. In Japan: Boo-Woo Ticket or Lawson and Ministop store machines. Nothing is sold at the park.
- Does it sell out?
- The Premium pass is the scarce one: one late-August 2026 check found it sold out for every month on sale, while the Standard pass was still free on almost every September day. That is one observation, not an official figure.
- Can I cancel or change?
- No refunds or changes to the date, time, ticket type or number of tickets once bought, and tickets cannot be transferred. If the park closes for weather, it announces any refund on its website.

How to book
From abroad there are two passes. O-Sanpo Day Pass Premium covers all five areas and the insides of their buildings (adults 7,300 yen on weekdays, 7,800 on weekends and holidays; children 4 to 12 half). O-Sanpo Day Pass Standard covers Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, Mononoke Village and the Valley of Witches (adults 3,300 or 3,800 yen). A small fee is added per ticket.
Both passes give a timed entry to Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse only; arrive within an hour of it. The other areas are open until 16:30 last entry.
Travel agencies selling Sunrise Tours (JTB) packages include park passes with a night in Aichi, and Sunrise Tours runs tours and Shinkansen packages from Tokyo.
If it’s sold out
Try the Standard pass, which has stayed available much closer to the date. With it you can still get inside Howl’s Castle, the Okino Residence and the House of Witches with limited same-day tickets in the Valley of Witches, handed out first come from 10:00 on weekdays and 9:00 on weekends and holidays.
JTB and Sunrise Tours packages include passes. There is no official resale, and tickets from resellers are refused.
Booking for a group
Up to 6 tickets per purchase, and each ticket type can be bought once a month per person. There is no group booking: a party of 7 or more splits into groups of 6 or fewer, each bought by someone in it, because buying for others is not allowed.
Each small group enters together with its named buyer. With Premium, everyone enters the first area and the Grand Warehouse together; after that each person uses their own wristband. Children 3 and under are free and are not counted.
Good to know
- Bring the passport of the person whose name is on the tickets: ID is checked at random and that person must be there.
- Choose Premium if you want inside Satsuki and Mei’s House or Howl’s Castle without a same-day scramble; Standard leaves out Hill of Youth and Dondoko Forest.
- The 27th of each month is Aichi Resident Day, sold to Aichi residents first, so do not count on that date.
