Sukiyabashi Jiro reservation: how overseas guests book
Updated
Through the concierge of the hotel where you are staying, if you are visiting from overseas. The official site says the Ginza main shop takes bookings by phone only, in the guest’s own name, and it publishes no booking window.
- When does booking open?
- No opening date or booking window is published. The official site says reservations are accepted by phone, and that guests from overseas can reserve only through the concierge of the hotel where they stay. It gives no number of months ahead, so settle your hotel first, then ask the concierge how far ahead they can book. Any figure quoted elsewhere is not from the restaurant.
- How far ahead is that?
- Not published. Ask your hotel concierge once your hotel is booked.
- Where do I book?
- Sukiyabashi Jiro Honten (the main shop), Tsukamoto Sogyo Building B1F, 4-2-15 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Reservations: +81-3-3535-3600, which the restaurant asks you to call outside its business hours of 11:30 to 14:00 and 17:30 to 20:30. For overseas guests, the call is made by your hotel concierge. There is no online booking on the official site.
- Does it sell out?
- The restaurant publishes no availability figures. It says that proxy bookings made for resale have increased, so it does not accept reservations on behalf of others: the booking must be made by the guest in person, through the concierge. Keep your dates flexible.
- Can I cancel or change?
- The official menu page says a cancellation fee of 44,000 yen, tax included, is charged from seven days before the reservation date. Present photo ID when you visit. The restaurant says that if it cannot verify your identity, you may be refused entry.

How to book
Book your hotel first. The overseas route runs through the concierge of the hotel where you are staying, so your hotel dates set your possible dates.
Check the restaurant’s days. The main shop is closed on Sundays, national holidays, Saturday nights, in mid August and over New Year. It is closed from 27 December 2026 to 6 January 2027.
Ask the concierge to book in your own name. The restaurant does not accept reservations made on behalf of others, and the concierge may ask to see your passport or other photo ID.
Keep the confirmation the concierge gives you, and ask what time to arrive. Lunch is served from 11:30 to 14:00 and dinner from 17:30 to 20:30.
Bring photo ID on the day. Cards accepted: Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Diners and JCB.
If it’s sold out
Ask the concierge for other days and the other seating. Lunch and dinner are separate sessions, and the main shop is closed on Saturday nights, Sundays and national holidays.
Try the Roppongi Hills branch. Its official shop page gives its own phone number, +81-3-5413-6626, hours of 11:30 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 21:00, and a weekly closing day of Wednesday. It is a separate counter and a different address, in Residence B 3F, 6-12-2 Roppongi. The official site states the concierge rule for the main shop, so ask the branch what it requires.
Look at another counter. Sushi Saito at Azabudai Hills takes bookings on the OMAKASE site in rounds. On 4 November 2026 its page listed lunch at 16,500 yen and dinner at 38,500 yen, tax included, plus a 390 yen fee per seat, with the next round opening on 1 December 2026 at 00:00 JST. It is a different restaurant with a different system.
Booking for a group
The official site states no maximum party size, so give the concierge your number when you ask.
Everyone should carry photo ID. The official wording asks guests to present it at the door, and does not say whether it applies to each person in a party, so ask the concierge.
The booking has to be made by a guest, not by someone acting on their behalf.

- The sushi is served in the omakase style, one piece at a time in the order the chef decides. Drinks listed are beer and Japanese sake.
- The restaurant opened in 1965 in the basement of its current building. The official site notes that Sushi Nakazawa in New York is not a branch and is not affiliated.
- Do not call during business hours. The restaurant asks callers to phone outside the lunch and dinner hours.
