Kirby Cafe reservations: when each month opens

Updated

At 18:00 Japan time, usually on the 10th of the month before, on the official Kirby Cafe reservation site. You need a free account first, and you can book Tokyo, Osaka or Hakata there. There are no phone bookings.

When does booking open?
At 18:00 JST, usually on the 10th of the month before the visit. The official site gave the August 2026 example: bookings opened on 10 July 2026 at 18:00, with login possible from 10:00. The page for each month states its own opening date, so check it the week before. Treat the 10th as the usual pattern rather than a promise.
How far ahead is that?
About 3 weeks to 7 weeks, depending on the day of the month you want.
Where do I book?
Online only, on the official Kirby Cafe reservation site (kirbycafe-reserve.com), reached from kirbycafe.jp. Tokyo is at Tokyo Skytree Town Solamachi, Osaka at Daimaru Shinsaibashi and Hakata at Canal City Hakata. There are no phone bookings.
Does it sell out?
The official site says seats can be hard to get right after a month opens, but it gives no figures. Plan to be logged in before 18:00 with your dates and party size already chosen. Walk-ins are possible only if seats are free, and guests with a reservation are seated first.
Can I cancel or change?
You can cancel in My Page on the reservation site until the day before. On the day, phone the cafe. The booking cannot be transferred or resold, and your ID is checked at the door. If you arrive more than 10 minutes after your booking time, the booking is cancelled.
When do Kirby Cafe reservations open?
At 18:00 Japan time on a set day each month, usually the 10th for the following month. The official site gave 10 July 2026 at 18:00 for August 2026 bookings. Check the date on the reservation page.
Can you walk into Kirby Cafe without a reservation?
Sometimes, if seats are free, but there is no guarantee and reserved guests are seated first. The takeout sweets shops and The Store Tokyo need no reservation.
How long can you stay at Kirby Cafe?
85 minutes in total, including being seated and paying. The time cannot be extended.
Do you need an account to book Kirby Cafe?
Yes. From the August 2026 bookings, the official site requires a free account, and registering needs a phone number verified by a call.
How many people can you book for?
Up to 8 in Tokyo and Hakata and 6 in Osaka per booking, with up to 3 bookings a month for each cafe on one account.

How to book

Create an account on the official reservation site before the opening day. Registration needs a phone number, and the site verifies it with a call. If you use a mobile-carrier email address, check that emails from beneliccafe.com are not blocked.

Find the opening date for your month on the site's reservation page. The August 2026 bookings, for example, opened on 10 July 2026 at 18:00, and you can log in from 10:00.

Log in a few minutes early, choose the cafe, date, time and number of guests, and confirm. The checkout window is 10 minutes, so do not reload the page.

Know the limits: each account can make up to 3 bookings a month for each cafe, and one booking holds up to 8 guests in Tokyo and Hakata, and up to 6 in Osaka.

Keep the confirmation email. Arrive about 10 minutes before your booking time with the email and a photo ID.

If it’s sold out

Try other days and times on the same page, and check again after the opening evening, because bookings can be cancelled until the day before.

Try another city. Tokyo, Osaka and Hakata each have their own cafe and their own seats, though the Tokyo cafe is the one with the fluffy pancake.

Visit the shops instead, which need no reservation. The Store Tokyo at Solamachi sells the goods, and the takeout sweets shops at Tokyo Station and Tennoji sell the cakes.

Walk in on the day and ask. A seat is possible only if one is free, and there is no guarantee.

Booking for a group

One booking holds up to 8 guests in Tokyo and Hakata and 6 in Osaka. A larger group needs more than one booking, and each account can make 3 a month for each cafe.

Put one person in charge of booking. The booking cannot be transferred, and ID is checked at the door.

Babies under 1 who sit on a lap are not counted, and the cafe has a limited number of kids' chairs.
