The Wimbledon Public Ballot: when it opens and how it works

The Wimbledon Public Ballot opens about 10 months before the Championships and is free to enter online. The 2027 ballot ran from 1 September to 23:59 BST on 14 September 2026, offers are emailed from October 2026, and the 2028 ballot dates are not announced.

When does booking open?
Once a year; for 2027 it ran 1 to 14 September 2026. For the Championships of 28 June to 11 July 2027, applications from everyone, overseas applicants included, opened on Tuesday 1 September 2026 and closed at 23:59 BST on Monday 14 September 2026. Successful applicants are emailed an offer from October 2026 onwards. The 2028 ballot dates are not announced.
How far ahead is that?
About 10 months ahead.
Where do I book?
Online only, at wimbledon.com, with a free myWIMBLEDON account; applicants from overseas can enter. Signing up to myWIMBLEDON does not enter you; you must submit a ballot application.
Does it sell out?
Wimbledon calls the Championships oversubscribed, and entering only gives you a place in a random draw. There is no official success rate.
Can I cancel or change?
Refunds are allowed if you return tickets at least 24 hours before the day of play, but a refund of ballot tickets ends your chance of more ballot tickets that year. Declining the offer is final, and late payment is not accepted. Apart from debentures, tickets must not be sold or offered for transfer; such tickets are void.

How to book

Enter for free at wimbledon.com in the September window, with a myWIMBLEDON account. You must be 16 or over. Each application is for two tickets.

Winners are drawn at random and offered one day on Centre Court, No.1, No.2 or No.3 Court, as a pair or, if no pairs are left, two single seats. You cannot choose the day, court or seat. The offer email has a payment link; only the applicant can pay, by major credit card.

2027 prices per ticket: Centre Court £85 to £400, No.1 Court £40 to £270, No.2 Court £55 to £110 and No.3 Court £60 to £95, depending on the day and, on the two biggest courts, the row.

If it’s sold out

Unsuccessful applicants get access to Wimbledon's returns shop, where tickets may be bought in the lead-up to the Championships. Official hospitality is sold only by Keith Prowse, and Newmarket Holidays sells tennis and hotel packages for the final weekend.

On the day, join The Queue: it sells one ticket per person, including 500 a day each for Centre Court (not on the last four days), No.1 Court and No.2 Court, plus Grounds Passes (£22 to £35 in 2027). The LTA runs separate ballots, which you can enter as well.

Booking for a group

Only one application per household, per email address and per myWIMBLEDON account. Apply from your permanent address (where you are on the electoral roll), not a holiday home, business address or temporary student flat.

The offer is for two tickets at most, so a bigger group cannot win seats together. Children aged 5 and over need their own full-price ticket for a show court; under-5s are not allowed on show courts. The applicant can transfer accepted tickets to a guest by email, in their account or the app.
